The plant is native to the Middle East and west Asia; producing bittersweet yellow, rectangular seeds. Many Indian dishes use fenugreek, and it can be used in chutneys and pickles. Should be added at the beginning of cooking, in moderation. May contain traces of celery seed or mustard seeds.
